John Parsons is an experienced stonemason. He has a City & Guilds certificate in craft and advanced craft. He has worked on Salisbury Cathedral for 22 years where he had a 4 year apprentiship and trained as a banker mason, fixer, and mould cutter.
John makes all his chisels by hand using forge, anvil and power hammer. He was taught the basics of forging by artist blacksmith David Harland. Over the years he has developed and designed his own tooling to produce a high quality, hand forged product.
John has set up his workshop in an old farriers building in the beautiful village of Bowerchalke, Wiltshire. He hopes to be able to use his extensive knowledge of stonemasonry to craft tools that stonemasons will enjoy using and also offer practical advice regarding his product range.
